Single-family home
Single-family home in Pedrajas (Soria)
The Pedrajas house stems from a vision that defines the entire project: to create a dialogue between two very different approaches to building. The stone walls, characteristic of the region’s building tradition, coexist with openings and elements made of Corten steel, a material that ages to develop a reddish patina which, paradoxically, brings it closer to the natural hue of the stone.
This duality between the traditional and the contemporary is not a contradiction but a strategic choice: stone provides mass, continuity, and a sense of rootedness to the site; Corten steel introduces precision and lightness to the openings, along with a presence that acknowledges its modern character without sacrificing its integration into the neighborhood’s built landscape.
